Leather dyeing ink

Water-based, waxy, and colorant-based leather dye for deep, intense dyeing with great hold and no residue.

It can be used for:

• Leather dyeing
• Synthetic tinting
• Ideal for shoes, bags, belts, wallets, sofas, leather tailoring and leather car seats, repairs, decorations, etc.

Easy to apply with a sponge or airbrush. It has high tinting power and incredible transparency.

It sets perfectly, does not stain or leave residue or residue once dry.

It allows you to mix colors and has a pleasant smell.

Available in 60 gram and 250 gram containers.

It is very important that the leather we want to dye is vegetable tanned and not previously dyed, otherwise the desired result will not be achieved.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE:

STEP 1:

Pour the paint into a flat container.
Water-based leather dye is a highly viscous liquid, so for more comfortable use, we suggest pouring it into a flat container, such as a plastic plate or bucket lid. Pour the leather dye into the container and wear gloves before beginning the leather dyeing process.

STEP 2:

Apply leather dye using a circular motion.
To apply leather dye by hand, you can use a sponge, a brush, or a soft cloth. Dip your tool into the dye and begin applying it to the surface of the natural leather using circular motions. During the first application, you'll immediately notice that the leather quickly absorbs the dye. Continue applying it to the entire surface of the leather until it appears completely colored with an even layer.

STEP 3:

Let it dry and you'll see how it changes color.
When using a water-based product, the drying phase will be slower than with alcohol- or solvent-based paint. It should take between 5 and 10 minutes, and during this phase, you'll see the color of the leather surface change, becoming lighter and shinier.

STEP 4 (Optional):

Repeat the application of the dye using a smaller amount.
Once the first coat is completely dry, you can proceed with the second application. This step isn't strictly necessary but is highly recommended to give the color more consistency and achieve an even layer across the leather surface. During the second application, you may notice that the paint has more difficulty penetrating the leather because a good portion of it is already covered in paint.

STEP 5:

Remove excess paint before it dries.
Paint that isn't immediately absorbed by the leather may remain on the leather surface in the form of liquid streaks. It's very important to remove it before it dries, otherwise your leather won't look uniform. To remove excess paint, you can easily use the dry side of your sponge or a clean cloth.

STEP 6:

Let it dry in a well-ventilated area for a couple of hours, or until completely dry. This ink doesn't stain, but for better adhesion, you can apply our leather fixative. Click here to see it.
