Due to continued use or accidents, our leather seats can become brittle, cracked, or torn. It's highly recommended to keep the leather well moisturized to prevent the aforementioned damage. Therefore, we recommend using a moisturizing or lubricating cream on the leather surface every six months to keep it moisturized and prevent it from cracking due to dryness. Our leather protective wax is especially suitable for this type of leather.
If we're already late and disaster has struck, don't worry, we have the solution to your headache. We're talking about our self-adhesive leather patches in different shades. They're the perfect solution for those small or large damages to your leather sofa, armchair, easy chair, etc.
These leather patches are:
- Self-adhesive (just peel off the backing sheet and stick directly to the surface to be repaired, without adding glue or adhesives)
- High quality and durable glue
- Water-resistant and easy to clean. With our neutral soap cleaner, you'll have your house looking like new again.
- Made of the latest generation of PU leather (synthetic leather).
- Wide variety of colors, you are sure to find the color you are looking for.
- Available in different sizes to repair all types of damage, whether large or small. You can easily cut the patch to fit the surface you need.
Now that you know a little more about self-adhesive PU leather patches, let's explain step by step how to apply them and repair your leather sofa, chair, seat, etc.
- Thoroughly clean the damaged area we're going to repair. We need to clean the area where we'll be applying our patch of impurities, sponge residue, threads, etc. This part is very important because if it's not completely clean, we run the risk of it not sticking properly and coming loose quickly, or leaving unwanted wrinkles and/or lumps. To clean it thoroughly and avoid damaging it, nothing better than our neutral soap cleaner, as we mentioned earlier.
- Let the area air dry and make sure it is completely dry before continuing.
- Once everything is clean and dry, we must carefully measure the area and place the patch on top without removing the protective adhesive film to see how it looks and ensure the patch covers the entire area. We'll leave at least a 5-centimeter margin around the affected area so the film has enough surface area to adhere properly.
- Once it's centered, remove the protective film from the glue and begin gluing it from one end to the other, applying pressure and making sure there are no wrinkles or lumps.
- We can make some corrections if necessary while the glue is still soft. Once it's dry, it won't be able to be peeled off. It's best not to peel the patch off too many times to prevent the glue from coming loose.
- We will let it dry for a couple of hours so that the glue adheres well to the surface.
- After this time, we can use our leather sofa, armchair, chair, etc. normally.
